After a decade and a half with the same representation, Area 5 voters have an opportunity to bring in a trustee whose entire career has been built on independent analysis and evidence-based decision-making...

"Sierra College Faculty Association PAC endorses Dennis Grossman for Board of Trustees, Area 5 (Auburn and surrounding areas). Dennis is a community member who wants to help improve the educational experience for everyone at Sierra College by supporting strategic and economically sound investments in our students and educators.

Dennis is committed to Board actions which:

Advocate for a high-quality and well-rounded education where students can complete their academic objectives in a timely fashion in order to join the workforce and strengthen our local economy.
Value fair and equitable recognition and compensation for the educational staff who work endless hours to ensure these students succeed.

Dennis will bring a fresh perspective to the Board in addressing the challenges facing students, faculty, staff, and Sierra College. As a trained scientist, he will ask the hard questions, develop and test assumptions, and follow the data where it leads.

After a decade and a half with the same representation, Area 5 voters have an opportunity to bring in a trustee whose entire career has been built on independent analysis and evidence-based decision-making. Dennis will bring that disciplined approach to the Board table."

Exactly the skills Sierra College Board needs; Ideal Trustee; Understands the whole community

"Dennis has spent over three decades building programs, leading teams, and bringing people with different priorities to the same table, exactly the skill set Sierra College's Board needs. His experience and education make him an ideal trustee. Students across our district, from Auburn to the rural corners of the county, deserve trustees who understand the whole community they serve and have experience to back their position. Dennis does, and I'm glad to support him."

Dedicated educator; Excellent communicator; Ideal candidate;

"I strongly endorse Dr. Dennis Grossman as a candidate for Area 5 Trustee for the Sierra Community College District. I have known Dennis personally and professionally for over 25 years. He is a dedicated educator, a skilled woodworker, an excellent communicator, and committed to finding collaborative pathways to the best outcomes for all. Dr. Grossman’s accomplishments in education, conservation science, and collaborative environmental solutions recommend him highly as a Trustee. I have worked with Dr. Grossman on major national and state conservation initiatives and found him among the best collaborators and communicators, always with a focus on tangible results. His administrative and management experiences strongly support the role of a Trustee. Combined with his successes as a conservation scientist, these skills make him the ideal candidate for this position. He listens, he asks the right questions, and he brings along diverse views to find real, measurable solutions."

Rare combination of scientific rigor, collaborative leadership, and public service; Understands good governance; Sound financial stewardship for taxpayers; ...

"Dennis brings a rare combination of scientific rigor, collaborative leadership, and public service to this role. He understands that good governance means gathering solid information, listening to different perspectives, and making responsible decisions, and not governing from the extremes. As a longtime Auburn resident deeply engaged in our region's communities, he also understands the full range of students Sierra College serves, from those headed to a four-year university to those seeking career training or a second chance. I especially appreciate his recognition that our faculty and staff deserve a board that respects and supports their work, alongside sound financial stewardship for taxpayers. Dennis will bring thoughtful, practical leadership to the Sierra College Board, and I'm glad to support his campaign."

"Sierra College Faculty Association’s endorsement of Denny Grossman speaks volumes about the need for new leadership on the Board of Trustees. In these rapidly changing times, Sierra College demands leadership with deep roots in academia, public policy-making, and collaborative thinking. Denny Grossman’s 35-year-long career in science and policy is exemplary in every way. He is a proven leader who I enthusiastically endorse for the Sierra College Board of Trustees TA-5."

He would be a significantly stronger trustee for this area and for the college as a whole; He has the judgement to guide the institution through change; He is better prepared...

"My endorsement of Dennis Grossman comes after careful consideration of Sierra College’s future. Its administration, faculty, and staff deserve credit for the college’s success. But their accomplishments do not, and should not, automatically make the incumbent the best choice for another term.

I support Dennis because I believe he would be a significantly stronger trustee for this area and for the college as a whole. This is a judgment about qualifications and readiness to spend significant time serving.

As artificial intelligence and a changing workforce reshape education and the workplace, Sierra College needs trustees who understand higher education, can evaluate complex decisions, and have the judgment to guide the institution through change. Dennis’s academic preparation and statewide leadership experience are a significant strength. I believe he is better prepared to ask difficult questions, scrutinize the answers, and help the college prepare students for what comes next. That is why Dennis Grossman has my endorsement, and I hope many others will care enough about the college's future to support him as well."
